Specifications for Submissions to Voices from the Field section
Submissions must be submitted electronically to the section editor (Dr. James C. Shuman at jshuman@stlawu.edu) for blind review.  Submissions must be in Microsoft Word using a 12 point Arial font, typed, double-spaced, and generally should not exceed 3000 words.  In the case of Voices from the Field, submissions may include short papers, descriptions of school practices, teaching strategies, curriculum development projects (lessons, unit plans, etc.), or other types of material.  Photographs, charts, graphic organizers, and other digitized visuals may be included; video files may not be included.  To the extent possible, names, personal information, and university/school identifiers of the author(s) should not appear in the submission to ensure anonymity in the review process. This information should only be included on the JPACTe Cover Sheet for tracking purposes.  All submissions must also include an abstract of 100-120 words.

JPACTe Cover Sheet
All submissions must be accompanied by a JPACTe Cover Sheet, which provides the name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s), the contact information of the principal author, permission for publication, and a waiver indemnifying JPACTe, its editors and sponsoring organizations, and its publishers of any copyright infringement committed by the author(s).  It is the responsibility of the author(s) to procure and provide copies of written permission to publish material previously copyrighted.  Scanned or electronic copies of the completed JPACTe Cover Sheet (with signature) and all necessary permissions must be sent electronically to accompany the submission.

Conventions
All material submitted for publication must conform to the style of the latest edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association

Copyright
In order to protect the works of authors, JPACTe, and its publishers and reviewers, all publications will be copyrighted by the Institute for Learning Centered Education, the host of this Web site.  By signing the JPACTe Cover Sheet, all authors agree to this procedure.

Review Process
Deadlines for submissions are January 1 for any Spring issue, May 1 for any Summer issue, and September 1 for any Fall issue. Submissions will be acknowledged by the editor upon receipt and coded for blind review. The editors reserve the right to determine which section of JPACTe is most appropriate for the review and eventual publication of the submission; this decision will be communicated to the principal author. Following preliminary editorial review, submissions will be sent to the appropriate review committee. Possible outcomes of the review include 1) publication without modification or revision, 2) return for minor revisions before publication, 3) return for major revisions before resubmission for review, and 4) rejection. If a submission is rated in category 1) or 2), it is then sent to JPACTe's Consulting Editor(s) for further review. If it is rated 3) or 4), it is returned to the lead author with comments. The review process normally takes 1 to 2 months. Authors should expect a reply from the editor(s) within that time regarding the status of their submission. Submissions may be edited.

Review Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated according to the criteria published in the JPACTe rubrics for Research and Theory and/or Voices from the Field.
