Dear Mr- Huntley,

The Clifton-Fine Central School District welcomes the chance to continue with the "Learner Centered classroom/Standards Focused Initiative" under the "Targeted Instructional Staff Development" grant.

We were among only a few districts to have our CDEP accepted by the State on initial submission two years ago. We continue to modify our data driven CDEP through a shared process on an on-going basis. We have identified the need for learner centered teaching strategies as a major strategy for addressing the root causes of problems the CDEP process has diagnosed.

Through this grant, we will build a greenhouse which will become a vehicle for our staff to design learner centered teaching strategies that will focus on helping students achieve higher standards and prepare for standardized assessments.

Clifton-Fine, through its strong commitment to America's Choice, the CDEP process, and a variety of professional development initiatives has already become a model for other districts in the State, at the same time that we recognize how long the journey remains for our own school.

The greenhouse and the manner in which we use it for professional development will be on display to all the participants in this grant and will be utilized as an exemplar for learner centered education.
