A learner centered classroom is an environment in which students take responsibility for their own learning. A visitor to this environment would expect students to be able to explain what they are doing, why they are doing it, and what they perceive to be the next steps.
In a learner centered environment, teachers are facilitators of student learning. Students are challenged with probing questions; their quest for answers leads them to discoveries which are part of their learning.
